November 20, 2013: Subsidized Housing Basics, Part 1: Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program and Rural Development Multifamily Housing

This training is the first in a series of webinars designed to assist domestic violence advocates and transitional housing programs in navigating the federally subsidized housing programs that are covered by the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. The session covers the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, which funds the majority of new affordable housing in our nation. It also covers Rural Development multifamily housing, which is a critical source of affordable rental housing for families in rural areas. The webinar discusses frequently asked questions regarding the programs, including tips for telling what program a client is in; who is eligible for each program; how the admissions process works; how much rent clients pay; rules regarding evictions; and helpful resources.
