National Housing Law Project: Congress Must Reject Trump’s Budget Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The National Housing Law Project (NHLP) today released the following statement by Executive Director Shamus Roller in response to Trump’s budget proposal:

“Congress soundly rejected Trump’s slash and burn spending strategy last year, and we expect them to do it again this year. While Trump talks about affordability and takes actions to hike costs on all of us, the housing crisis continues to rage. Congressional leaders must do their job and fight against Trump’s attacks on poor and working families by fully funding our government and the programs that keep us housed, fed, and healthy.”
