Read More The Discussion Draft proposes significant amendments to Section 18 — the provisions in the statute that permit the demolition or disposition of public housing. Issues that are the focus of the Discussion Draft, one-for-one replacement, the residents’ right to return, and relocation and mobility rights for those who are displaced, are issues that concern the NHLP, the Housing Justice Network (HJN) and public housing residents and applicants. There are a number of improvements that NHLP recommends to ensure that the Discussion Draft fully and adequately addresses these and other issues. A copy of the testimony and draft are here.
