Planning for the Future - Northern California Session

A FREE discussion and training for attorneys, advocates and counselors working with homeowners and tenants living in foreclosed homes or at risk of foreclosure

This forum is intended to bring together legal services, public interest advocates and housing counselors:

· Provide information about the foreclosure-related policy landscape at the federal, state and local level. We will discuss successes and challenges thus far and where we are heading in 2010. This is an opportunity for participants to give input about changes they would like to see on the state and local level.

· Discuss and share litigation strategies on behalf of homeowners facing foreclosure and tenants in foreclosed on properties. Participants will learn about key strategies currently used against the worst lending and servicing practices and share information about encountered abuses, including failure to comply with eviction requirements. Participants will strategize about litigation and administrative solutions.

Speakers & Facilitators: Representatives from: Housing & Economic Rights Advocates Western Center on Law & Poverty National Housing Law Project California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation Tenants Together Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agencies Neighborhood Legal Services.
