Training for residents:: HUD Basic Training for HUD public housing and voucher resident leaders on the1998 Public Housing Reform Act. Where: Dallas, TX When: April 2-4 or 4-6, 2001: There will be two identical sessions each will be two days and one/half days. Cost: Partial scholarships that will reimburse 85% of the costs will be available to assist resident leaders who wish to attend. Tenants who previously attended the training last summer may also apply but the scholarship for them is limited to 50% of the costs Registration: Information is available at https://conference.aspensys.com/phra/

TENANT LEADERS INCLUDING OFFICERS OF RESIDENT ORGANIZATIONS, RAB MEMBERS AND TENANT COMMISSIONERS ARE URGED TO ATTEND. RESIDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND HOUSING ADVOCATES WORKING WITH PUBLIC HOUSING AND SECTION 8 VOUCHER TENANTS THAT HAVE NOT YET SENT RESIDENT LEADERS TO THIS TRAINING ARE URGED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY. Tenants and advocates should begin immediately to seek additional funds from their local PHA and other sources to cover the remainder of the cost. Resident leader travel expenses for this training are an eligible PHA operating expense, management improvement expense, or Housing Choice Voucher administrative fee expense.
