The regular monthly call for the Fair Housing Working Group will be at 4pm Eastern, 3pm Central, 2pm Mountain, and 1pm Pacific time on Tuesday, May 9. As always, the call is the second Tuesday of the month.

The Dial-in information: 217- 322-6922 at the top of the hour. The PIN number for the call is 1026. Michael Hanley of the Greater Upstate Law Project will host.

The main agenda item wil be to discuss the fair housing implications of the April 17 PHA Plan Deconcentration/ "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing" (AFFH) regs.

Additional agenda items include a report by Leslie Proll of NAACP LDF about her recent meeting with other traditional civil rights groups regarding their greater participation in housing issures. Also, we'll see if anyone has anything to add to the discussion on HUD's formal elimination of its approval requirement for Section 8 residency preferences (see recent postings of Cathy Bishop and Mike Hanley), and we'll ask for a Langlois (Mass. residency pref case) report from Amy Copperman or Judith Liben

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE "UMBRELLA" PUT UP ON THE LALSHAC DISCUSSION BOARD FOR POSTING COMMENTS ON THE APRIL 17 REGS. (www.nhlp.org)

We would like to try to get a volunteer for each issue to consolidate the comments. Catherine Bishop has agreed to then try to assemble the final package.

Please call or email with additional agenda items.
