Housing and Welfare Intersection Information

The Legal Services Working Group on Housing/Welfare intersection Issues is composed of housing, welfare and employment advocates who contribute to the development of useful local strategies on a number of issues intersecting the three areas of the law. The group has developed the following background and strategy memoranda that may be of interest to housing advocates:

  • Public Housing Agency Earnings Disregard Policies and Practices to Support Welfare Reform;
  • Housing Agency Admissions Preferences and Welfare Reform;
  • Retaining Federally Assisted Housing for Families That Have Lost Income Due to Welfare Sanctions and Time Limits.

These memoranda are posted on the Equal Justice Web-site and may be accessed here.

To find out more about, or to join, the Housing/Welfare working group, contact Barbara Sard at sard@gis.net.
