Funding for Rural Housing Programs Approved in Omnibus Spending Measure
Rural rental housing construction loans were cut substantially,
as were single-family guaranteed and very low-income repair loan programs.
Rural rental assistance fared far better. A chart compares the FY 1998
enacted program levels with the Administration’s FY 1999 request and FY
1999 enacted levels.
