NHLP Staff

Please feel free to contact us by calling or sending an e-mail to any one of our staff members at the address listed below.

Please understand, however, that NHLP IS NOT A DIRECT SERVICE ORGANIZATION AND DOES NOT REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS.  We are unable, therefore, to respond to individual assistance requests.  Moreover, because NHLP no longer receives federal Legal Services funding and only receives limited general support funding, we review requests for assistance and are selective about returning calls and responding to e-mail.

Generally, we respond to calls or e-mail from legal advocates working for a California legal services program that receives IOLTA funding.  We are also likely to respond to requests for assistance from housing advocates and sponsors in Northern California and Los Angeles with regard to the eligibility of legal immigrants for assistance in housing programs funded by the State of California. With respect to other calls and e-mail, we are likely to respond to advocates about matters dealing with the implementation of the 1998 changes to the Public Housing program, restructuring of the Section 8 program, or issues affecting large numbers of clients.  We are not likely to respond to law students or other students undertaking research, or individual clients seeking legal advice.  Please be selective about the requests you make and consult with other resources, such as our housing manuals or the Housing Law Bulletin, whenever possible.
