Housing Rights of People with Disabilities
NHLP’s nationwide Reasonable Accommodations Initiative was established to provide training and technical assistance to disability advocates and to uphold the goal of enforcing and expanding access to housing for people with disabilities. Our work with California advocates in drafting and submitting comments to local housing authorities has led to a number of jurisdictions changing their reasonable accommodations policies to accurately reflect the law and more effectively serve their residents. More information is available at our Resource Center.
